Description of a Zune Channel and how to subscribe to it

Expand all | Collapse all

SUMMARY

A Zune Channel is a kind of dynamic playlist that you can subscribe to through the Zune Marketplace. These channels are typically used for branded channels, such as billboard charts or a music artist weekly top 40. Channels are actively updated. Because of this, channel contents are dynamically updated in the Zune software client as the content of the channel is updated on the Zune Marketplace. Also, custom channels are created based on your favorite artists and genres. Channels are included with a monthly Zune Pass subscription and can be synced to the device for playback.

For non-Zune Pass subscribers, the channels are available for purchase. You can choose to add any of the currently downloaded or subscribed content to your personal collection. After you add the downloaded or subscribed content to your personal collection, the content permanently remains in your personal collection. Transient content is not permanently added to your personal collection. Transient content will be removed or replaced with new transient content if the playlist is updated on the Zune Marketplace.
