Article ID: 957003 - Last Review: September 25, 2008 - Revision: 1.0 The RenameUser method does not change the samAccountName attribute in Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration 4.0
On This PageSYMPTOMSYou use the Host Active Directory Web Service to call the RenameUser method in
Microsoft Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration 4.0. If you specify a
new value for the samAccountName attribute, the call to the RenameUser method will return without an error. However, the samAccountName attribute has not changed. CAUSEThere is an error in the XSD schema for this parameter.
Therefore, the samAccountName attribute is not passed to the provider. Note This problem exists only if you use the Hosted Active Directory Web Service to call the RenameUser method. If you call the procedure directly from a Microsoft Provisioning Server (MPS) Client, it succeeds. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft.
