Microsoft Office Access Runtime and Data Connectivity Components 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2) provides the latest updates to the following products:

• Microsoft Office Access 2007 Runtime
• The Database Connectivity Components driver for the 2007 Microsoft Office system

These updates include two main categories of fixes:

• Previously unreleased fixes that were made specifically for this service pack.
  • In addition to general product fixes, this includes improvements in stability, in performance, and in security.
• All the public updates, security updates, cumulative updates, and hotfixes that were released through February 2009.

Service pack removal

2007 Microsoft Office Service Pack 2 is the first service pack to support the removal of client updates by using both the command line and the Microsoft Service Pack Uninstall Tool for the 2007 Microsoft Office Suite. Known issues and behavior changes

After you install this service pack, you may notice the following issues:

• If you view this .exe file for multiple languages, the .exe file for some languages is larger than the .exe file for other languages. This is because Microsoft Office Access 2007 Runtime exists in many languages. However, the Database Connectivity Components driver for the 2007 Microsoft Office system exists only in a subset of those languages.
• If you have these two products, both products are updated by this .exe file. If you only have one of these products, the appropriate product is updated by this .exe file.
• Access Runtime and Data Connectivity 2007 SP2 will not update the original version of Microsoft Office Access 2007 Runtime. This version has the build number 12.0.4518.1049. If you have that build, and you want it to be updated to the SP2 level, uninstall that build, and then install Access Runtime and Data Connectivity 2007 SP2.
