INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issues that are not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You install the Japanese version of the 2007 Microsoft Office system on a client computer.
    • You use ATOK as the Japanese input method editor instead of the Microsoft Office Input Method Editor (IME) 2007.

Note ATOK is a third-party IME.
    • You use ATOK to type some characters in hiragana in a new e-mail message.
In this scenario, the composition of characters is completed automatically without pressing ENTER for confirmation. Therefore, you cannot input KANJI in the e-mail message.

    Notes
    • This problem occurs when the Outlook Help window is open.
    • This problem also occurs when you use Microsoft IME, and the text service is disabled.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You are running Word 2007 on a Tablet PC.
    • In a Word 2007 document, you draw a cycle by using the ink tool.
    • You save the document in the XPS format.
    • You reopen the document in Word 2007.
In this scenario, you notice that the cycle is not displayed in the correct position in the document.
  • When you open an RTF e-mail message in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, some attachments that are included in the message may be shown incorrectly. Instead of the shortcut icons for the attachments, you receive the following error message:
Error: unloaded OLE object or mail attachment
  • In Word 2007, you print a HTML document that contains images. However, the images may be not printed in their actual sizes.
  • On a Windows Vista-based computer, you run a macro to scan the bookmarks in a Word 2007 document. However, the performance is much slower than running the macro in Word 2007 on a Windows XP-based computer.
  • When you are running a macro that will access the TabStop object in a Word 2007 document, a memory leak may occur. Eventually, Word 2007 may stop responding.
  • In a Word 2007 document, there is a table that contains a vertically merged cell. In the merged cell, there is a diagonal line. When you print the document, the diagonal line is not printed.
  • Consider the following scenario. You select the Enable Live Preview option and the Prompt to update style option for Word 2007. In a Word 2007 document, you try to format the selected text by selecting one of the following styles in the Style Gallery:
    • Heading 1
    • Heading 2
    • Heading 3
    • Heading 4
In this scenario, when you move the pointer over one of these styles in the Style Gallery, the focus may be switched from Word 2007 to another application. This problem occurs when another Office application is open. For example, this problem occurs when Microsoft Office Excel 2007 is open.
This also fixes the following issue:
958447 An Outlook 2003 user cannot open a network share from a hyperlink in an RTF e-mail message if the e-mail message is sent from an Outlook 2007 user

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • 958174 You cannot open a network share from a hyperlink in a Word 2007 document or in an RTF e-mail message
  • 958906 After you apply hotfix 956795, the settings in the .msp file are not applied to Word 2007 if a policy is set for Word 2007
