Known issues with this security update

  • This update addresses the vulnerabilities by preventing Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2002 from opening PowerPoint 4.0 native file formats. After you install this update, you cannot open PowerPoint 4.0 presentations. When you try to open a PowerPoint 4.0 presentation, you receive the following error message:
    This file has an older format that isn't supported.
    You can override this behavior and enable PowerPoint 2002 to open PowerPoint 4.0 presentations. However, doing this may increase your security risk.
