SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You deploy a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Single Copy Cluster (SCC) environment on computers that are running Windows Server 2008.
  • On the Exchange 2007 server, you enable Standby Continuous Replication (SCR) for storage groups.
In this scenario, you cannot replicate the data in the storage groups.

When this issue occurs, the copy status of the storage groups switches between Healthy and Failed in the Exchange Management Console, and the network shares for the storage groups are deleted and created intermittently.

Note You can trace the share creation or deletion by running Microsoft Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant (extra.exe) with the "NetShare" tag of the "Cluster.Replay" component. After you run the trace tool, the following items will be logged in the trace log:
Share creation:
8066 Debug <Date, Time> <number> Cluster.Replay NetShare NetShareAdd success status: 0, paramNumber: 0 for serverName=, scopeName=, shareName=<GUID of storage group$>, sharePath=<path>

Share deletion:
8053 Debug <Date, Time> <number> Cluster.Replay NetShare DeleteShareOnNetworkTransport( addr=<domain>, shareName=<GUID of storage group$>
