Article ID: 957881 - Last Review: November 12, 2008 - Revision: 1.0 FIX: EAP-PEAP authentication may fail if you wait several seconds before you enter your credentials to connect to a wireless AP from a Windows CE 5.0-based deviceOn This PageSYMPTOMSYou connect a Microsoft Windows CE 5.0-based device to a wireless
access point
by using Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) - Protected EAP (PEAP). If
you wait several seconds before you enter your credentials in the credentials
dialog
box, the EAP-PEAP authentication may
fail. CAUSEThis problem occurs because the wireless access point continues to send authentication
request packets that have increasing ID numbers if it does not receive your credentials immediately. However, when you enter the credentials after several seconds have passed, you still respond to the first ID number.
