The OAB generation is unsuccessful and Event IDs 9328 and 9373 are logged in the Application log in a Windows Server 2008-based Exchange 2007 Single-Copy cluster environment

SYMPTOMS

In a Windows Server 2008-based Exchange 2007 Single-Copy cluster environment, when you try to generate the Offline Address Book (OAB), the operation fails. Additionally, the following event errors are logged in the Application log:

OALGen encountered file error 80070043 (internal ID 505021e) while generating the offline address list for address list '\Global Address List'. Make sure there is enough disk space available.

Description:
OALGen detected that the file '\\<server name>\ExchangeOAB\xxxx' is corrupted or missing. This indicates data tampering or disk problems. Restore files in this folder from the recent backup or clean up folder content and force a full OAB generation.

RESOLUTION
