When you use the Msdatasetgenerator custom tool in the .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (SP1), the scale value and the precision value in the generated code for a third-party .NET data provider differ from the values that you set in the Parameters Collection Editor dialog box.

Note This problem does not occur when you use one of the following data providers:

• SQLProvider
• OracleProvider
• ODBCProvider
• OleDBProvider
• SQLCeProvider

Steps to reproduce the problem

1. Create a Visual C# project or a Visual Basic project by using one of the following templates:
   • The Windows Forms Application template in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.
   • The Windows Application template in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1.
2. On the Data menu, click Add New Data Source.
3. Connect to a Microsoft SQL Server database, and then select a table that contains scale and precision information in the Data Source Configuration Wizard dialog box.
4. In Solution Explorer, right-click the dataset (.xsd) file, and then select View Designer.
5. On the dataset tab, right-click TableAdapter, and then select Properties.
6. In the Properties dialog box, expand one of the following commands:
   • Deletecommand
   • InsertCommand
   • UpdateCommand
7. Select the parameters line, and then click the ellipsis button next to the Parameters label.
8. In the Parameters Collection Editor dialog box, change the scale value and the precision value, and then click OK.
9. In Solution Explorer, right-click the .cs file or the .vb file, and then select View Code.
10. Check the scale value and the precision value.
