On This PageSYMPTOMSAfter you install System Center Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) in a Windows 2000 environment, you start to receive multiple alerts from Windows 2000-based computers. The most frequently received alert in this situation is "WMI Probe Module Failed Execution." Additionally, the following event is added to the Operations Manager log on Windows 2000-based computers: Event Type: Warning Event Source: Health Service Modules Event Category: None Event ID: 10401 Date: <date> Time: <time> User: N/A Computer: <computer name> Description: Module was unable to connect to namespace '\\.\ROOT\CIMV2' This has happened 1 times since this instance was loaded. HRESULT: 0x80041015 Details: Transport failure CAUSEThe WMI Probe Module triggers an alert when the first WMI query attempt fails. On Windows 2000-based computers, the WMI query requires more time to respond.
