The default precision of a money field is set to two when you use the Korean language or the Japanese language in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0

When Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 is set to use the Korean language or the Japanese language, the default precision of a money field is set to two instead of zero. Therefore, the money that appears in a form or in a report contains two decimal places.

This problem occurs because the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 multicurrency feature does not support currency-based precision.

This problem is fixed in the latest cumulative update rollup for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.

Installation information

Install this hotfix on computers that are running the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 server components or the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Microsoft Office Outlook components.

To enable this hotfix, follow these steps on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 server and on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 client for Outlook with Offline Access.

Note Before you enable this fix, consider the following items:

• The currency hotfix makes your currency appear with no decimals regardless of the currency that you use. You must make sure that you do not use two-decimal format currency in Microsoft Dynamics CRM before you activate the hotfix.
• You must make sure that the Pricing Decimal Precision setting is set to 0 before you activate the hotfix.
• Decimals are disabled after you complete the following steps.

On the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 server, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRM
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4. Type EnableCurrencyPrecision, and then press ENTER.
5. Right-click EnableCurrencyPrecision, and then click Modify.
6. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
7. On the File menu, click Exit.

On each Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Outlook with Offline Access, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRMClient\
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4. Type EnableCurrencyPrecision, and then press ENTER.
5. Right-click EnableCurrencyPrecision, and then click Modify.
6. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
7. On the File menu, click Exit.
