Project 2003 crashes when you expand many subprojects in a master project

When you open a master project in Microsoft Office Project 2003, and then you expand many subprojects, Project 2003 crashes. Additionally, you receive the following error message: When you view the data in the error report, the report contains an error signature that resembles the following:

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

1. This issue is fixed in the Office Project Server 2003 and Microsoft Office Project 2003 Post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package (Project.msp) that is dated October 28, 2008. Therefore, you should apply and install this hotfix package.

2. Enable the hotfix. To have us enable the hotfix for you, go to the "Fix it for me" section. If you prefer to enable the hotfix yourself, go to the "Let me fix it myself" section.

   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\OFFICE\11.0\MS PROJECT
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click String Value.
4. Type FreeODBCCache, and then press ENTER.
5. Right-click FreeODBCCache, and then click Modify.
6. In the Value data box, type True, and then click OK.
7. Exit Registry Editor.
