SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft SQL Server 2005, rows that include a NULL column may not be deleted when you delete rows from a table by using ImageColumnName is NULL as the condition in the WHERE clause.

This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:
  • The table includes a column of one of the following data types:
    • image
    • text
    • ntext
  • You insert rows in the table.
  • You use the UPDATE statement to set the column to NULL for some rows.
