Horizontal black stripes are displayed in the print output when you print an image to a PCL printer from a computer that is running Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows XP, or Windows Server 2003Article ID: 959482 - View products that this article applies to. On This PageSYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. You install a print driver
for a Printer Control Language (PCL) printer on a computer that is running
Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008. Additionally, this print driver uses some
custom halftone patterns. However, when you print an image in this scenario,
horizontal black stripes are displayed across the image in the print
output. This problem occurs if either the width or the height of the HTPatternSize attribute for the printer's halftone patterns is larger than 144 pixels. However, according to Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) documentation, the HTPatternSize value can be as large as 256×256 pixels. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationImportant Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 hotfixes are included in the same packages. However, only one of these products may be listed on the “Hotfix Request” page. To request the hotfix package that applies to both Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, just select the product that is listed on the page.A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft.
