SYMPTOMS

When the root management server is running, the Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) SDK service may stop unexpectedly. Additionally, you may receive the following error message:
Specified argument is out of the range of valid values
When the System Center Operations Manager 2007 SP1 SDK service stops unexpectedly, the Service Control Manager logs event ID 7031 in the System log.

You must have System Center Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 installed to apply this hotfix. Additionally, this hotfix must be applied to each computer that meets one of the following criteria:
  • The computer hosts the System Center Operations Manager 2007 root management server.
  • The computer hosts a System Center Operations Manager 2007 management server.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
