The Out of Band Management console in Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 cannot connect to AMT-enabled computers

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1), the Out of Band Management console cannot connect to Active Management Technology (AMT)-enabled computers.

Additionally, the following information is logged in the Oobconsole.log file:

   at Microsoft.ConfigurationManagement.ManagementProvider.WqlQueryEngine.WqlConnectionManager.GetInstance(String objectPath)
ManagementException details:
[6][date & time] :GetAMTPowerState fail with result:0x80070035
…
[6][date & time] :IMR_SOLOpenTCPSession2 with user = <user name> fail with result:0x20, description:Failed to Establish TLS Connection
[6][2008-10-7 20:47:14] :IMR_SOLOpenTCPSession fail with result:0x00000020.

CAUSE

This problem occurs for one or more of the following reasons:

The computer accounts of the affected AMT-enabled computers do not have the correct values in the servicePrincipalName attribute. This causes Kerberos authentication to fail and prevents the Out of Band Management console from connecting to these AMT-enabled computers.
When a computer is provisioned, a computer account is created. Later, the computer is un-provisioned, and the computer account is deleted. Eventually, this computer is provisioned again. However, the second time that the computer is provisioned, the userAccountControl attribute of the computer account is not set to the correct value.
