FIX: Memory consumption in MEMORYCLERK_SOSNODE and in USERSTORE_SCHEMAMANAGER may cause a performance slowdown of a SQL Server 2008 databaseArticle ID: 959767 - View products that this article applies to. Bug #: 50003417 (SQL Hotfix) Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 fix release. SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft SQL Server 2008, an increase in memory consumption in the MEMORYCLERK_SOSNODE cache and in the USERSTORE_SCHEMAMANAGER cache may occur. When this increase occurs, memory allocation is not reclaimed, and queries wait for memory grants. This may cause a performance slowdown of a SQL Server database. RESOLUTIONThe fix for this issue was first released in Cumulative Update 2.
