You cannot play content that is protected by Microsoft Windows Media Digital Rights Manager in Microsoft Windows Media Player 11 after you upgrade Windows Media Player or the operating system
You cannot play content that is protected by Microsoft Windows Media Digital Rights Manager (WMDRM) in Microsoft Windows Media Player 11. Additionally, in the error message that appears, you are directed to a Microsoft Web site. This problem occurs after you perform one of the following actions:
You upgrade Windows Media Player to Windows Media Player 11 in Windows XP.
You upgrade your operating system to Windows Vista or to Windows Server 2008.
This problem occurs because the Certificate Revocation Lists (CRL) that are sent from the WMDRM server are not stored. Therefore, the client computer cannot play back the WMDRM content.
