SYMPTOMS

The version statistics for Microsoft Anti-Virus (MSAV), under Scanner Updates in Antigen 9.0 for Exchange Service Pack 1, do not update as expected. Additionally, the following error is logged in the ProgramLog.txt file:
ERROR: UpdateException: GetFileCommand failed on aveMicrosoft.dll. SybSync:UnzipFile CabException: Failed to extract the file(s) from 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Forefront Security\Exchange Server\Data\Engines\x86\Microsoft\Bin\sybF2.tmp': 11: User aborted. CAB is readable. Failed to open 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Forefront Security\Exchange Server\Data\Engines\x86\Microsoft\Bin\aveMicrosoft.dll'. Error: 13. File exists. Attribs: 'RW'." Fri Aug 08 12:10:36 2008 ( 1956- 5212), "INFORMATION: The Microsoft scan engine has been rolled back.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install Hotfix Rollup 5 for Antigen 9.0 with Service Pack 1.
