PowerPoint 2003 presentations larger than 4,297 KB are not searchable in the Indexing service and by other search providers that rely on the Office iFilter in Windows Server 2003Article ID: 959996 - View products that this article applies to. SYMPTOMSOn a Windows Server 2003-based computer, the Indexing service is installed, or other search providers that rely on the Office iFilter to search documents are installed. In this case, Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 presentations that are close to or larger than 4,297 kilobytes (KB) are not searchable after the documents are indexed. For example, you have two PowerPoint 2003 presentations that contain the word "test." One presentation is larger than 4,297 KB, and the other presentation is smaller than 4,297 KB. When you search documents by using the keyword "test," only the smaller PowerPoint presentation is returned by the Indexing service. Note This problem does not occur in PowerPoint 2007 presentations.
