How to change your Xbox LIVE account language setting

The Xbox LIVE account language setting is used for the following Xbox Dashboard items:

• Xbox LIVE Marketplace content and content descriptions. However, content is not supported for all languages on Xbox LIVE and may default to another language if a description is not available.
• Xbox LIVE subscription descriptions.
• Messages sent from the Xbox team, such as service notifications or promotions.
• Spotlight and Events on the Xbox Dashboard.

Change the Xbox LIVE account language

If your Xbox LIVE account is set to a country or region that supports multiple languages (for example, Canada), you can change your Xbox LIVE account language. Here?s how:

1. Please visit live.xbox.com/Account/BillingAccountInformation (http://live.xbox.com/Account/BillingAccountInformation) .
2. Sign in using your Windows Live ID.
3. If multiple languages are supported for your country or region, select a language from Preferred Language.
   
   Note The Preferred Language option does not appear if only one language is supported (for example, the United States).
   
4. Click Save.

It may take up to 24 hours for this change to take effect on your Xbox 360 console.

The following table shows the languages that are available to Xbox LIVE in certain countries or regions.



Note You cannot change the country or region of an Xbox LIVE account once you create an account. However, you can select a different language if more than one is available.

The following Xbox LIVE features are not supported by the Xbox LIVE language setting but by your console?s language setting:

• Xbox Dashboard channel names (for example, My Xbox)
• Promotional content on various Xbox LIVE channels
