Issues that this update package fixes

This update package fixes the following issues:

• 961563  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961563/ ) Participants who use Communicator 2007 R2 or Live Meeting 2007 hear short noise spurts through the Audio Video Multipoint Conferencing Unit in multipoint calls
• 961564  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961564/ ) The state in the conference is inconsistent with the state in the roster in the Audio Video Multipoint Conferencing Unit in Communications Server 2007

Installation issue

In some cases, after you install this update, you my receive the following error message on the computer that is running Communications Server 2007 and that has the Audio Video Conferencing Server role installed: If you receive this error message after you install the update, create the AvMcuSvc.exe.config file. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Start Notepad.
2. Paste (or type) the following text in Notepad:
   <configuration> <runtime> <generatePublisherEvidence enabled="false"/> </runtime> </configuration>
3. On the File menu, click Save, and then name the file AvMcuSvc.exe.config.
4. Save the file in the same location as the Avmcusvc.exe. By default, this location is as follows:
   %Program Files%\Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007\AV Conferencing
5. Start Services.msc, and then start the Communications Server Audio/Video Conferencing service. By using the AvMcuSvc.exe.config configuration file, the Authenticode signature verification process is bypassed for Avmcusvc.exe and all dependent binaries. Also, the Audio Video Conferencing Services starts in time.

Note This workaround works only with the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or later versions. Additionally, use this workaround only if you receive the following error after you apply the update for AVMCU server:

Update package information

To install this update package, install the OCS2007-KB960160-x86-AudioVideoMCU.msp package on the Audio Video Conferencing Server.
