Description of the Word 2003 hotfix package (Winword.msp, Wordom.msp): December 16, 2008Article ID: 960556 - View products that this article applies to. On This PageSUMMARYThis article describes the Microsoft Office Word 2003 issue that is fixed in the hotfix
package that is dated December 16, 2008. INTRODUCTIONThis hotfix fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article: When you open Word 2003 documents in Word 2007, the text appears differently than it does in Word 2003. This is because the hyphenation of words is different between Word 2003 and Word 2007. The hotfix is a code change and macro that you have to run on Word 2003. For your existing files, the macro converts all auto hyphenations into manual hyphenations. The file will appear the same when you open it in Word 2007 because the hyphens are now manual, not automatic. MORE INFORMATIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft.
