SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You install Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Data Mining Add-ins for Microsoft Office 2007 on a computer. Then, you open a Microsoft Office Word 2007 document that contains a Microsoft Office Excel 2007 embedded worksheet. In this scenario, you may receive the following error message when you try to activate the Excel 2007 embedded worksheet in the Word 2007 document:
The program used to create this object is Excel. That program is not installed on your computer. To edit this object, you must install a program that can open the object.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the updated version of SQL Server 2008 Data Mining Add-ins for Office 2007 that is released together with SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 1. WORKAROUND
