SYMPTOMS

You install a MIME plug-in on a Windows Embedded CE 6.0-based device. When you try to open a MIME-related file, a file download dialog box appears.

For example, you install the Flash media plug-in. When you try to open a Shockwave Flash file (.swf), Windows Internet Explorer does not use the plug-in to play the file. Instead, a file download dialog box appears.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the code is ported incorrectly to search the registry for plug-in information in Windows Embedded CE 6.0.
