On This PageSYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. You configure HTTP access for an instance of SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services or for an instance of SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services. On a client computer, you enable the Use automatic configuration script option for Windows Internet Explorer. You configure Internet Explorer to use a proxy auto configuration (.pac) file. In this scenario, you cannot connect to the instance of SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services or to the instance of SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services through HTTP. However, if you select to use the Use a proxy server for your LAN option in Internet Explorer, you can connect to the instance successfully.
