SYMPTOMS

On front-end servers that are running Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, the RtcSrv service crashes and restarts repeatedly.

Additionally, the following event is logged in Event Viewer:
Event ID: 7031 Source: Service Control Manager Type: Error Description: The <service name> service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this <n> time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in <no of ms> milliseconds: <action>.

To resolve this issue, apply the following update:
