Bug #: 50003807 (SQL Hotfix) Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 fix release. SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. In Microsoft SQL Server 2008, you have a database that contains lots of tables. In a maintenance plan, you create a Rebuild Index task for the database. Then, you run the maintenance plan. In this scenario, the maintenance plan takes much longer than you expect to run. The maintenance plan takes much longer to run in SQL Server 2008 than to run in SQL Server 2000. RESOLUTIONThe fix for this issue was first released in Cumulative Update 3.
