SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server, the scan engines do not update, and the following error is logged in the ProgramLog.txt file:
ERROR: A standard exception was caught in GetEngineFiles. Invalid string position

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install Forefront Security for Exchange Server Service Pack 2 (SP2).
