In earlier versions of Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server, Active Directory queries perform inefficiently when content filtering is enabled. When content filtering is enabled, Forefront Security for Exchange Server performs Active Directory lookups for each e-mail message recipient one at a time.
In Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server Service Pack 2 (SP2), the lookups for the message recipients are batched together. Therefore, Forefront Security for Exchange Server can perform one lookup per message.
