Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or Microsoft SQL Server 2008 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2005 or Microsoft SQL Server 2008 fix release.
In Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or in Microsoft SQL Server 2008, you have a table that contains a column of large object (LOB) data.
You convert the column type to "varbinary(MAX)."
You enable the Large value types out of row option on the table.
You insert a row into the table.
In this scenario, if you try to update the data of the varbinary column on the row that you inserted, you may receive the following error message:
Msg 7105, Level 22, State 6, Line 1 The Database ID 2, Page (0:0), slot 0 for LOB data type node does not exist. This is usually caused by transactions that can read uncommitted data on a data page. Run DBCC CHECKTABLE.
If you try to query the data of the varbinary column on the row that you inserted, the connection may be closed and you receive the following error message:
Msg 233, Level 20, State 0, Line 0 A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)
