SUMMARY

This article describes the Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated February 24, 2009.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • The BeforeItemPaste event in the Outlook 2003 object model does not work when the Search box is used to filter or restrict items in a folder that is not enabled for instant search.
  • On a CITRIX terminal server, Office Communicator crashes occasionally in Emsmdb32.dll.
  • On a Japanese version of an operating system, you open a form that contains a Duration field in Outlook 2003. When you type m in the Duration field, "m" is unexpectedly recognized as "hour" instead of "minute."
  • In Outlook 2003, you receive an e-mail message that contains a signature that is a HTML image file and some attachments. When you select the e-mail message from the message list and then try to save all the attachments, the attachment picker window does not appear as expected. Instead, when you try to save all the attachments, the Save As dialog box appears unexpectedly. In the Save As dialog box, you are only able to save the HTML image file.

Note If you open the e-mail message, you do not experience this problem.
This hotfix also fixes the following issues:
  • 967346 Files that have the .eml file name extension do not open in Outlook 2003
  • 967141 In Outlook 2003, S/MIME preference settings are treated as policy settings unexpectedly
  • 967630 The duration of an appointment changes from one hour to two hours unexpectedly when the appointment occurs at the same time as the DST transition
