E-mail notifications in Forefront Security for Exchange Server are sent from the wrong address

SYMPTOMS

You configure Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server to send e-mail notifications for events such as virus detections, file filtering, and scan engine updates. However, you notice that the sender of the notifications is not the e-mail address that you set in the following registry subkey.

For 32-bit systems:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Forefront Server Security\Notifications\FromAddress
For 64-bit systems:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Forefront Server Security\Notifications\FromAddress

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install Forefront Security for Exchange Server Service Pack 2 (SP2).
