Article ID: 967169 - Last Review: April 20, 2009 - Revision: 4.1 FIX: When you run an UPDATE statement against a table that has a FOR UPDATE trigger that joins the DELETED and INSERTED tables, the query takes a long time to finishMicrosoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or Microsoft SQL Server 2008 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2005 or Microsoft SQL Server 2008 fix release. On This PageSYMPTOMSIn Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and in Microsoft SQL Server 2008, you create a FOR UPDATE trigger that joins the DELETED and INSERTED tables for a table. When you run an UPDATE statement against the table, you may find that the query takes a long time to finish. Additionally, a minidump file is generated in the SQL Server 2005 log folder. Error messages that resemble the following are logged in the SQL Server 2005 Errorlog file: DateTime Server *******************************************************************************
