SYMPTOMS

When you perform a crawl in a SharePoint site, the following error message may be logged in the crawl log:

http://perfr145shared documents/forms/combine.aspx Error in the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services Protocol Handler. Local Office SharePoint Server sites 6/16/2006 2:12:18 AM

The error message indicates that there is an invalid URL, and this invalid URL is missing a slash mark (/) character.
