STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION

Note If the user has both Visual Studio 2008 and Team Explorer 2008 installed, the user must have SP1 installed for both products. If the user has not installed SP1 after both products were installed, either Visual Studio or Team Explorer may not be patched correctly. For example, consider the following scenario:
  • A user installs Visual Studio 2008.
  • Then, the user updates Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2008 SP1.
  • Then, the user installs Team Explorer 2008.
In this scenario, Team Explorer 2008 will not be patched with SP1. To avoid this situation, you must reinstall Visual Studio 2008 SP1.

APPLIES TO
  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1
  • Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Foundation Server Service Pack 1
  • Microsoft Visual Studio Team Explorer Service Pack 1
