SYMPTOMS

If you search the text in the AboutMe managed property in a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 site, no results are returned. For example, you enter the following search:
AboutMe:veterinary
This search does not display results for users whose AboutMe description is "veterinary" or "I worked as a veterinary until last year."

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install both the hotfix package that is described in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 961750 and the hotfix package that is described in KB961749, and then configure the AboutMe managed property. For more information, click the following article numbers to view the articles in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
961750  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961750/ ) Description of the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 hotfix package (Sts.msp): February 24, 2009
961749  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961749/ ) Description of the Office SharePoint Server 2007 hotfix package (Coreserver.msp): February 24, 2009

Configuration Needed

After you install these hotfixes, you must enable the indexing of the AboutMe property as a managed property. The indexing is performed programmatically by setting the FullTextQueriable Boolean property to true for the AboutMe managed property.

The FullTextQueriable property is documented at the following Microsoft site:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.office.server.search.administration.managedproperty.fulltextqueriable.aspx (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.office.server.search.administration.managedproperty.fulltextqueriable.aspx)
