On a System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 site server, the SMS_Executive service process (Smsexec.exe) crashes when you use Intel WS-MAN Translator version 1.1 (build 558) to provision some computers

SYMPTOMS

On a Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 site server that has hotfix 960804 installed, the SMS_Executive service process (Smsexec.exe) crashes.

This problem occurs when you use Intel WS-MAN Translator version 1.1 (build 558) to provision some computers that are equipped with Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) 2.1/2.6 chipsets on this computer.

Additionally, the following event is logged in the Application log:
