SYMPTOMS

You publish multiple applications through a Microsoft Intelligent Application Gateway 2007 portal. When you try to change the URL Set level for one of these applications, the settings may be applied to the incorrect application.

This issue occurs if you have multiple entries in the URL Set Level list and modify the URL Set level to any entry other than the first entry in the list. Additionally, after you select a new level, the changes will also be applied even if you click Cancel.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because of an issue in the current version of Intelligent Application Gateway 2007. Intelligent Application Gateway 2007 SP2 Update 1 adds new functionality that prevents this problem from occurring.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install Update 1 for Intelligent Application Gateway 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2).

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. In Intelligent Application Gateway 2007 Configuration console, click a portal trunk.
  2. Click the Configuration button that is next to Advanced Trunk Configuration, and then click the URL Inspection tab.
  3. On the URL Inspection tab, select the first application type in the Type list in the URL Set Level section.
  4. Change the URL Set Level slider to a different value.
  5. Click OK, and then activate the configuration.
  6. Repeat step 2 and step 3. You will find that the configuration for the first application type is applied correctly.
  7. In the Type list, select an application type other than the first application type.
  8. Change the URL Set Level slider to a different value.
  9. Click OK or Cancel, and then activate the configuration.
  10. Repeat step 2 to view the configurations on the URL Inspection tab.
Notice that the configuration you made for the second application type is applied correctly. However, the configuration you made for the second application type is also applied to the first application type incorrectly.
