Article ID: 968016 - Last Review: June 18, 2009 - Revision: 1.1 FIX: The BizTalk Server 2006 R2 FTP adapter randomly stops retrieving files from an FTP server until you restart the BizTalk host instance
On This PageSYMPTOMSIn Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2, you use an FTP adapter that connects to
an FTP server to retrieve some files. You may find that the FTP receive
location randomly stops retrieving files. When this occurs, you do not receive
an error message or a warning message in the Application log. Additionally, the
FTP receive location does not respond. To make the FTP receive location
work again, you have to restart BizTalk host instance. Note If you use a network monitor tool, such as Network Monitor, to monitor the traffic between BizTalk Server and the FTP Server, you find that no packets are sent to the FTP Server. CAUSEThis problem occurs because a deadlock occurs in the FTP
adapter. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article.
