Expand all | Collapse all

SUMMARY

Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server with Service Pack 1 and earlier versions of Forefront Security for Exchange Server parses each file in preparation for the keyword scan regardless of whether Keyword lists exist and regardless of whether Keyword lists are disabled. This functionality is changed in Forefront Security for Exchange Server with Service Pack 2.

MORE INFORMATION

Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server with Service Pack 2 (SP2) introduces a change in operation. If there are no keyword filter lists or if the keyword filter lists are disabled, Forefront Security for Exchange Server with Service Pack 2 does not parse a file in preparation for keyword scanning. This behavior uses less memory, decreases scan times, and improves overall performance.
