SYMPTOMS

The FSCController service in Microsoft Forefront Security for SharePoint stops responding after you restart the server. This causes the Realtime Scan Jobs to become disabled.

Additionally, the following Error event may be logged in the System log:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7022
Date: <Date>
Time: <Time>
User: N/A
Computer: <ServerName>
Description: The FSCController service hung on starting

RESOLUTION
