When this problem occurs, the application screen will not display anything unless you have set a customized error message. Additionally, if you play the file in Windows Media Player, you receive the following error message in the Debug output window. CWMVideoDecMediaObject::InternalProcessOutput - WMVideoDecGetOutput failed - returned 0x5 You receive the error message when you perform the following actions:
CAUSEThis problem occurs because the Microsoft DirectX Media Object (DMO) miscalculates the width of an image when the YV12 format is used as the output format. Therefore, the file cannot be rendered. RESOLUTIONSoftware update informationA supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows CE 6.0 Platform Builder Monthly Update (April 2009). You can confirm this by scrolling to the "File information" section of this article. The package file name contains the product version, date, Knowledge Base article number, and processor type. The package file name format is:Product version-yymmdd-kbnnnnnn-processor type For example: Wincepb50-060503-kb917590-armv4i.msi is the ARMV4i Windows CE 5.0 Platform Builder fix that is documented in KB article 917590 and that is contained in the May 2006 monthly update.
