Some file formats are blocked after you apply 2007 Office Suite Service Pack 2 or 2007 Office servers Service Pack 2

SYMPTOMS

After you apply 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2 or 2007 Microsoft Office servers Service Pack 2, the following file formats are blocked:

Microsoft Office Groove 2007: .cnt and .hpj
Microsoft Office Groove Manager Server 2007: .cnt and .hpj
Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007: .cnt and .hpj
Microsoft Office Forms Server 2007: .cnt and .hpj
Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0: .cnt and .hpj
Microsoft Office Outlook 2007: .cnt, .osd, .vbp, and .hpj

WORKAROUND

Outlook 2007

To unblock the .cnt, .osd, .vbp, and .hpj file formats in Outlook 2007, follow these steps:

Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key.
Type Level1Remove, and then press ENTER.
Right-click Level1Remove, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type .cnt; .osd; .vbp; .hpj, and then click OK.
Exit Registry Editor.

Note This form is available through the Admpack.exe download. This form was not updated for Outlook 2007. Therefore, you can still use the form for Outlook 2003.

InfoPath 2007

To unblock the .cnt and .hpj file formats in InfoPath 2007, follow these steps:

Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\InfoPath\Security
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click String.
Type UnsafeFileTypesRemove, and then press ENTER.
Right-click UnsafeFileTypesRemove, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type cnt;hpj, and then click OK.
Exit Registry Editor.

Groove Manager Server 2007

To unblock the .cnt and .hpj file formats in a domain that is managed by Groove Manager Server 2007, follow these steps:

Visit the Groove Manager administrative Web site, and then select a domain identity template in the navigation pane.
On the Member Policies page, click the Security Policies tab.
In the Blocked Files section, select the Override Groove's default list of blocked files option, and then remove the .cnt and .hpj file formats from the list.

Groove 2007

If you use Groove 2007 as part of a managed Groove domain, ask your Groove domain administrator to unblock the file types, as documented in the "Groove Manager Server 2007" section.

If you use Groove 2007, but you are not part of a managed Groove domain, you cannot customize the list of restricted file types. However, you can enable or disable blocking for all restricted file types.

Note By disabling blocking of restricted file types, you make your computer less secure.

To disable blocking for all restricted file types, follow these steps:

On the Options menu, click Preferences, and then click the Security tab.
Under File restrictions, click to clear the Block restricted file types check box, and then click OK.

Windows SharePoint Services 3.0

To unblock .cnt and .hpj file formats in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, follow these steps:

Start SharePoint 3.0 Central Administration.
Click Operations, and then click Blocked file types under Security Configuration.
On the Blocked File Types page, remove .cnt and .hpj from the list of blocked files.
