SYMPTOMS

When you try to import configuration settings to Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, the Application Sharing multipoint control unit (MCU) does not register the new media relay for the pool. Any external or federated users that try to join conferencing sessions that are hosted on this MCU cannot do so.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, apply the following update:
967833  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967833/ ) Description of the update package for Communications Server 2007 R2, Application Sharing Server: April 2009
If the MCU is restarted, it will register the correct media relay. The update allows the MCU to register the correct media relay without restarting.
