The PDFCreator toolbar add-on may not be compatible with Internet Explorer 8

SYMPTOMS

When you start Internet Explorer (IE) 8 that has the PDFCreator toolbar add-on installed, you may receive the following error message:
Internet Explorer 8 is in a special no-add-ons mode so that you can fix a compatibility problem with the PDFCreator toolbar

Then, you notice that all add-ons have been disabled. Therefore, you cannot use any add-ons that were previously enabled. You may also experience that IE 8 freezes or crashes.

Note Microsoft does not support the PDFCreator toolbar in Internet Explorer 8.

We recommend that you uninstall or disable the PDFCreator toolbar add-on. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. In Internet Explorer 8, click Tools, and then click Manage Add-ons.
  2. Select the PDFCreator Toolbar add-on, and then click Disable.
  3. Click Close, and then exit all Internet Explorer windows.
