How to fix the Drive Letter Access and Internet Explorer 8 incompatibility problem

After you click a link in Internet Explorer 8, an Internet Explorer windows opens that contains the following message:Note Drive Letter Access is burning software that is developed by Roxio. For more information, visit the following Roxio Web site: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support. This contact information may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this third-party contact information.

To resolve this problem, disable the "Drive Letter Access" Internet Explorer add-on. You can still use the Drive Letter Access program to burn CDs and DVDs after you disable the "Drive Letter Access" Internet Explorer add-on.

To disable the "Drive Letter Access" Internet Explorer add-on, follow these steps:

1. Close all Internet Explorer windows.
2. Open a new Internet Explorer window. You will see an Internet Explorer window that states that the "Drive Letter Access" Internet Explorer add-on can cause Internet Explorer to crash or to stop responding.
3. Click Always open Internet Explorer without this add-on.
