The output is formatted incorrectly when you use the fax functionality in Excel to print a worksheet on a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008

On a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, you use the fax functionality to print a worksheet in Microsoft Excel. However, the output is formatted incorrectly and is unreadable.
This problem may also occur if you send Excel Workbooks through a Windows Server 2008-based fax server.
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

Prerequisites
To apply this hotfix on a Windows Vista-based computer, you must have Windows Vista SP1 or Windows Vista SP2 installed.
To apply this hotfix on a Windows Server 2008-based computer, you must have Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 SP2 installed.
Restart requirement
You must restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

To work around this problem, use a different application to send the fax. For example, you can embed the Excel worksheets into a Word document and then fax the document by using Word.
