More information about this security updateYou may be able to open or insert a Works file on a system that has Microsoft Office 2003 and some Microsoft Office 2007 components installed. This may be true even if you do not have the Microsoft Works versions 6 though 9 File Converter installed. However, after you install this security update, the system will be protected from the vulnerabilities that are described in security bulletin MS09-024

because the system will not open the specially crafted Works files.
