Symptom



When you try to install or uninstall the agent for System Center Operations Manager 2007 you may receive the following error message:

    Fatal error during installation

You may also see one of the following events in the Application event log:

Also, if you try to get windows installer log with the msiexec.exe /q /i "MOMAgent.msi" /l*v "C:\Agent\MOMAgent_install.log" USE_MANUALLY_SPECIFIED_SETTINGS=0 command you will see the following error message:

    GetComputerDomain: NetWkstaGetInfo failed. Error Code: 0x8007085A.

Cause

This can occur if the Workstation service is disabled on the target system.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, enable the Workstation service and perform the installation or uninstallation procedure again.
